How to Delete Cached Pages from Google Search Engine
Do you like this story?
Google usually update/index new pages every time their Google bot crawls a page or when you submit a site map but until that time, your older information or pages which had been indexed earlier (cached) are displayed in search engine.
Some of those
pages may contain information that you no longer want to be displayed to
the public. You can simply request for the removal of old verion
(cached version) straight by going to Google Webmaster.
Log in to
Google Webmaster or incase you have not registered, you need to register
first in order to be able to access the indexed/cached pages.
- Login on to your Google Webmaster Home Page
- Select the Website that you want to remove the cached page by clicking on it
- On the Dashboard, click on the Site Configuration on the left side bar
- Click or Crawler Access
- Click on Remover URL
- Select New Removal Request
- Fill in the URL address of the page you want to remove. Make sure that you use exactly the URL of your blog/website.
- Click on Continue
- Then select the Remove Cached Version of this Page.
All your old pages (cached) will be removed. The new page will appear once your blog is crawled/index Google bot.
You can read much more about URL Removals on Google Webmaster page.
