4 Simple ways to type faster on your iPad





Split the keyboard
Notice the five horizontal lines on the Pad's keyboard icon? Tap and drag these upwards To split the keyboard in two. Now you can hold your iPad and type with your thumbs. Drag the lines down again to create a single, large keyboard.
Auto-complete your sentences
Double-tap the spacebar, and the Phone and iPad will put a full stop after the last word you type and capitalise the first letter of the next.
Find hidden keys
Tap and hold a key to bring up special characters -drag your finger to the one you want and let go to insert it. On the iPad, if you tap the key and flick your finger upwards, it'll insert the first character.
Create your own shortcuts
In Settings > General > Keyboard, you can add shortcuts that are letter combinations for your device to automatically turn into a phrase. For instance, 'Omw' means' On my way; but you can tap Add New Shortcut... to make your own. Don't use common words as the shortcut though, otherwise you'll end up sending a phrase.
