How To: Find Out How Much Storage Space Your Photos And Videos Are Taking On Your iPhone

If your iPhone is your go to point-and-shoot camera (like it is for
me), then it is quite likely that you’re filling up the limited storage
space on your device without noticing it.
While the Photos app tells you how many photos and videos are there in the Camera roll and the Photo Stream, it doesn’t give you any visibility on the storage space occupied by them.
In iOS 6, there is an easy way to find out exactly how much storage space is being used the photos and videos on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Follow these steps:
If you’re running out of space then it may be a good idea to do some house cleaning and delete some the photos and videos.
While the Photos app tells you how many photos and videos are there in the Camera roll and the Photo Stream, it doesn’t give you any visibility on the storage space occupied by them.
In iOS 6, there is an easy way to find out exactly how much storage space is being used the photos and videos on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Follow these steps:
- Launch the Settings app
- Tap on General, followed by Usage
- Here under Storage you will get to see the total amount of storage used by all the apps (it may take few seconds for iOS to gather the storage info).
- Photos & Camera will be on the top of the list. It will display the storage space used by the photos and videos on your iOS device.
- If you tap on Photos & Camera, you will be able to see how much space your videos and photos take in the Camera roll, Photo Library (this is the content that you’ve synced from iTunes) and Photo Stream.
