15 Best Games for New iPad 3
Do you like this story?
With time becoming ever-more precious, iPad has become
essential parts of our daily lives, enabling us to achieve things that would
have been deemed impossible just five short years ago. This is also true of our
gaming time: we can get more minimal as we get older. It's rather pleasing then
that there are so many amazing games that thrive on delivering short bursts of
gaming in a way few other systems can achieve, From classic hits like AngryBirds, to more modern offerings like Draw Something, both types have proven we
can always make time for games.

Alligator by guiding water to his shower, it's an amazingly simple
concept that's backed up by some exceptional water physics that help to
create some truly clever puzzles. It's constantly updated as well,
ensuring plenty of longevity. A classic in the making.

Angry Birds HD ($2.99)

It may have received an excellent cosmos-themed sequel recently, but the original Angry Birds remains
one of the best physics-based puzzlers that money can buy, Although
hardly an original concept - it's effectively a twist on Crush The Castle ($0.99), which itself was inspired by Castle Clout HD ($1.99) -
Rovio's deft treatment turned it into a massively popular game with
cute visuals, charming characters and clever puzzles, While Angry Birds
does suffer from the odd difficulty spike, its an insanely addictive
game that constantly pulls you back for one more go. Little wonder then
that it has been downloaded over 12 million times since its release. A truly essential download on any device.

Looking for some games that will test your brain as well as your
reflexes?
Triple Town (Free)

The core of Triple
Town requires you to turn an area
of sleepy woodland into a lush city for your inhabitants to live in. This is
achieved by matching three or more similar items together - much in the way you
would playing other match-three games such as Bejeweled The twist is that
matching three items will level them up into new ones, Matching three grass
clumps creates a bush, three bushes create a tree, three trees make a wooden
house and so on. Bears appear and can't be built on, moving about to impede
your progress, but if you block three or more off you'll create a church (Three
churches create a cathedral, naturally). It's an exceptionally clever system
that offers an insane amount of re pay ability. Like many ipad games it does
feature niggling in-app purchases, but they make little real impact on play as
you can enjoy is over and over without spending.
Plants vs Zombies ($2.99)
This was one of the
iPad's first launch games and it's still brilliant, A clever twist on the tower
defence genre, it sees you planting a wide variety of greenery to repel a
never-ending onslaught of the living dead. Filled with black humour, the 50
levels and 18 fun mini games cement its repayability.
While it could be
argued that Bejeweled 2 offers more modes, the score chasing nature of Blitz
makes it more addictive to play. Clever Facebook integration, slick
intuitive controls end weekly leaderboards make this another great example of
the match-three genre. It's also perfectly playable without the need for in-app
purchases.
Best iPad Arcade Games
Whether you're
looking for classic platformers or fast-paced running games. You'll find them
all here
Tiny Wings ($0.99)
Hold the screen to make your chicken hug a
slope and build speed, then release it to make him speed up.
Its addictive due
to "me procedural graphics changing the course layout each game,
Doodle Jump ($0.99)

Another evergreen
favourite That remains as addictive as ever. Tilt your phone to make your
Doodle Dude jump as high as possible and bypass the monsters by out-maneuvering
or shooting them. Its a delightful concept
that's been kept fresh thanks to numerous updates. A truly excellent timewaster
that's impossible to tire of.
Geometry Wars: Touch ($0.99)
This fast-paced
twin-stick shooter originally started off as an iPad launch game, and is still
hellishly addictive today. This is mainly due to a large variety of gameplay
modes (seven in total), supportive leaderboards and excellent intuitive
controls that make it a joy to play. An excellent shooter that will lure you
back.

Great Games To Compete Against Your Friends - Directly or Indirectly
Draw Something (Free)
This article nearly missed its deadline because of this very
game - a sheer sign of its addictiveness. The concept behind OMGPOP's Draw
Something is nothing less than ingenious. It's a version of Pictionary that you
can effortlessly play with friends online, usually by importing contacts via
email or Facebook. Simply choose a word of varying difficulty, draw it to the
best of your ability and send it to a friend. Play then keeps continuing until
someone fails to guess the picture and your winning streak is reset to zero.
Coins are awarded for correctly guessed pictures (the greater the difficulty of
the word you have drawn or guessed, the more coins you are awarded) and can be
put towards additional colours to give your drawings added flair. It needs more
words to choose from, but we'd hazard a guess by the popularity of this app,
it's only going to get better with additional updates.
Prose With Bros ($1.99)
Prose With Bros is
great fun - and not just because we have dirty little minds. You're presented
with a selection of random words that you and an opponent must then make the
best sentence possible from, which the community then votes on. It's a great
idea that allows for plenty of smutty and humorous wordplay.
Worms 2: Armageddon ($4.99)
The only downside
to Worms 2: Armageddon is some fiddly controls. Get past these and
you'll discover a fantastic strategy game that's an absolute blast - especially
when played online, This is mainly due to the clever turn-based play, bright
cartoony visuals and sheer number of crazy weapons in your arsenal.

Words with Friends ($2.99)

Scrabble is a great
game, and this variant not only betters it, but delivers far slicker online
play that makes it hard to put down. It has excellent Facebook integration, a
solid pass-a net-play option and the kind of impossibly sharp presentation that
makes it a real joy to piay, A great word game that should never leave your
device. What do you mean its not on it?
Scrabble ($9.99)

An expensive but traditional alternative to Words
With Friends.
