Best Photo & Video Apps for iPhone/iPad and iPod touch
Do you like this story?
As iPhone and iPad
have increasingly become our cameras and home video camcorders, so too
has the App Store been inundated with photo and video editors. today we
will take a look at some of the best Photo & Video apps for your
iPhone/iPad and iPod touch device.
CAMERA+ ($0.99)
This is another highly popular iphone photo app and one that recently
went through a major update. Camera+ transforms your device's onboard
camera into a full studio that allows you to adjust your shot with the
help of a grid, set the timer, adjust white balance for several points
in your shot and voila, a great photo. But that's not all, as the app
comes with a powerful set of postproduction tools to crop, rotate, add
borders, and massage colors, contrast, and brightness. These features
are just the beginning as Camera+ is packed full of special effects and
correction tools to help you turn an ordinary pic into a masterpiece.
iMOVIE ($4.99)
Video editing on your iphone and ipad
can be a daunting process. Thankfully, iMovie makes it a very
accessible and inviting process via multi-touch making it fun,
interactive and collaborative. iMovie allows users to create
customizable movie trailers and other professional sequences, using
themes, photos, music and sound effects and even recording and editing
your own soundtracks. Users can then upload to Youtube, Facebook, Vimeo
and CNN iReport. It's easy to use and makes great use of the iPad's
screen size, yet it's still great to use on iPhone and iPod Touch even though this is as feature rich as it gets and can feel almost overwhelming.
COLOR SPLASH ($0.99)
Now, here is where things get artsy. Color Splash is designed to allow
users to add a touch of the dramatic and artistic to their shots by
converting photos to black and white while keeping the user designated
objects in full color. The multi-touch user interface is highly
intuitive and responsive through the use of your finger as a brush to
"paint" sections of your image black and white or to return to the
original color. You can even zoom all the way in to work on individual
pixels, depending on how detailed you want to get. There are some
amazing images being shared on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr using Color
Splash.
PHOTOSHOP TOUCH ($9.99)
If you're familiar with Apple Magazine, then you're probably already
familiar with our look at Photoshop Touch. This is a condensed version
of the desktop program, but it's still impressively packed with features
allowing iPad
users to do almost as much as is possible on their tablet device. Some
of the more advanced features are predictably missing, but this serves
to simplify the user interface and keeps the program from feeling
cluttered and overwhelming. Adobe
made some intelligent design choices and compromises to keep the
program streamlined and simple, yet it's the most fully featured photo
editing app on iOS, integrating with Adobe Creative Cloud and its parent desktop program.
645 PRO ($2.99)
This is a iphone camera app designed to work like a real life camera and
not a piece of software. It has been designed from the ground up for
serious and amateur photographers with every setting managed directly
from the "camera". The idea is to have complete control over focus,
exposure, white balance and more with all the buttons and dials on
screen and set out just like a real camera, instead of in menus. Images
are then captured as 'developer RAW tiff files or uncompressed jpegs, so
the quality is very high with shots coming out crisper, cleaner and
more detailed.
8MM VINTAGE CAMERA ($1.99)
8mm Vintage Camera app for iphone and ipad
transports your device back through time to capture old school style
footage from the golden years of cinema. Users are able to mix and match
films and lenses to create deeply atmospheric and timeless effects
including dust scratches, retro colors, flickering, light leaks,
projector sounds and frame jitters to give your videos a distinct film
noir, roaring 20s, swinging 60s, or sleazy 70s edge. Navigation is easy,
it supports 720p and 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ration, effects can be added
after or in real time while filming, and videos can be saved to the
camera roll or shared via Facebook and YouTube.
