The old saying goes that the best camera is the one you have with you, and for a good percentage of the time, this will be the inbuilt camera on your iPhone. Keen to tap into that sitting market, several accessories that pimp up the camera have begun to appear, with the Holga lens attempting to tap into the dual popularity of iPhone and all things vintage.

Equipped with nine different filters on a rotating wheel attached to a case that fits around the iPhone 4/4S, it features a number of coloured filters, a macro filter and a few others that provide a split screen effect. It's easy to flick through them, and it provides a fun way to experiment.

It's difficult to imagine yourself using all of the filters regularly, especially the split screen ones, but some are a bit of fun - like the red, heart-shaped filter - while the macro lens is actually surprisingly decent and useful.

On the downside, the case stops the iPhone being sleekly pocketable, and it's worth noting that it also rather annoyingly covers the flash, so it's best suited to using in well-lit situations. If kooky effects are your bag, you could perhaps try combining the kit with apps such as Hipstamatic or Ins tag ram.

Ultimately, this isn't the most sophisticated piece of kit you can attach to your iPhone, but at under £20 it's fun and worth a punt.
